Acquisition Researcher
Due to expansion the development team are looking to recruit an Acquisition Researcher. The Development Team is responsible for securing land and the necessary permissions to enable the construction of wind turbines.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing team and would suit someone who is keen to learn about the renewable energy industry and progress within this market.
The main duties of this role will include:
- Run desk-top based feasibility studies in MapInfo Professional for all incoming sites. Analyse and assess the development area and potential turbine layouts.
- Post site identification, liaise with the Land Registry to identify potential landowner details and prepare detailed site layout plans.
- Main point of contact for all incoming landowner queries and responsibility for assessing initial development potential.
- Preparation of detailed landscape and ecology plans relative to each site.
- Preparation of detailed site access assessments using Autotrack.
- Investigate and identify relevant national, regional and local planning policy relating to wind farm development for each new site.
- Analyse consultation responses and confirm final site layout plans to be passed to planning.
Successful candidates will have experience using MapInfo and have good attention to detail. Desirable skills include GIS experience or knowledge of the renewable energy industry.

Business Administrator
An exciting opportunity is available to join this growing area of the business. The objective of this position is to offer an excellent customer experience to all of our business customers as well as administrative support to the business sales team.
You will be responsibly for handling enquiries made by phone, email or letter from existing and potential customers. You will need to ensure that customers accounts are being managed effectively which may involve administering customer appointments and using industry communications. The role require someone with good interpretation, communication and resolution skills.

Project Manager
You will have project management expertise, a detailed knowledge of the EIA regulations, procedures and excellent negotiation skills. You will be able to understand and communicate complex issues effectively and be a highly motivated problem solver. Experience of developing wind energy projects is desirable, but not essential.

Marketing Executive - Partnerships
This role will focus on the development and maintenance of partner relationships and the management and delivery of partner marketing programmes. This is a core sales channel for Ecotricity and the mission is to build traffic and sales from existing partnership arrangements and the creation of new partner relationships.
The successful candidates will therefore need to possess good relationship marketing and account handling skills as well as an ability to produce and deliver joint marketing activity. They will also need good administrative skills and will be required to provide quarterly performance and financial reports – for all partners. They will need to work to tight deadlines and manage budgets and invoices.
They will need to be familiar with online marketing plus an ability to write copy and work on a Mac. The role will also include email marketing and direct marketing, promotions, incentives and print. They will need a good understanding of the Ecotricity proposition and an ability to encourage partners to support our plans and programmes.
There is also an important role in communicating activity internally in particularly to the Customer Service team the position will have sales targets to achieve and will report to the new Marketing Communications manager.

Web front-end developer
We are looking to hire an experienced front-end web developer who will create interfaces, interface elements and supporting materials for cutting-edge web based applications with a focus on ease of use, cross-browser support and professional presentation. You will be focusing on all design stages from graphical concepts through to navigational/interface structures through to development of the front end interface code. The work is challenging, creative, fast paced and intellectually stimulating. Strong analytical skills, unwavering commitment to quality, collaborative work ethic and cutting edge skills are best fit.
About You
You will have:
- Graduate degree preferably in web technology, web design, computer science or relevant field.
- Demonstrable experience in website and web application development.
- Experience of developing web applications or functional websites with a strong focus on the usability and functionality of web application design.
- Expert understanding of and extensive experience in HTML, XHTML and CSS. An understanding of JavaScript & AJAX would be advantageous.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; confident, friendly, with good presentation skills as you will be working closely with internal clients and colleagues. This should include experience of creating wire-frames.
- Strong problem solving skills, adaptable, proactive and willing to take ownership.
- Expert understanding of W3C web standards including an understanding of accessibility and its issues with regards to web development
- Proficient in the use of Photoshop to create visuals and experience of slicing and optimising images.
- Experience of using Content Management systems
- The ability to integrate HTML with templating frameworks such as Smarty Templates
- A good understanding of IDEs used to produce web applications and sites
- A good understanding of source control (e.g. CVS), collaborative tools (e.g. Basecamp), bug tracking (e.g. Bugzilla), etc.
- A good understanding of SEO opportunities in front-end development

Project Manager - Wind Farm Construction
Ecotricity were the first ‘green’ electricity company in the world, we pioneered the concept of making green electricity available to homes and businesses back in 1995. Ecotricity continues to innovate and lead the way in green electricity retail and wind turbine development.
Many of our projects rank as significant UK "firsts" in wind energy and all of them are examples of the good neighbour policy, being a marriage of good design, good technology and committed ownership.
Projects scheduled for construction in 2007 will see Ecotricity’s wind capacity double to 57MW.
We are looking for an enthusiastic project manager to join our team and help us to manage our this ambitious build programme.
Based out of Great Yarmouth with the potential for some work from home, this person will need to manage entire projects relating to the construction and commissioning of Wind Farms.
The role requires the following skills:
- Strong Project Management Ability
- HV Electrical Engineering Experience
- Construction Experience
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the entire project.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent computing skills including MS Office, MS Project and CAD packages
Additional Skills which would be an advantage are :
- Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in the Wind Farm Industry
